About company
The DVS Shoe Company was founded in 1995 by Kevin Dunlop. Kevin was the owner of 118 Boardshop. With the supply-and-demand problems with brands like Duffs, Etnies, and Airwalks, he could never get enough shoes in his store. He ordered 50 pairs and got six. It was obvious that there needed to be more companies in the market. Kevin became a pretty good friends with Tim Gavin and one day he said that if Tim could get the team together, he could get the shoe company together. That's how it started, but Kevin really didn't know anything about manufacturing. At the beginning Dunlop and Gavin received a financial help from Kevin’s father and some rich uncles from Texas. DVS, with Lakai and Matix, is owned by Podium Distribution.
